  • Datuk Dr Syed Naguib Syed Abu Bakar or fondly known as “Doc” is a bona fide heavyweight in the world of project management. With a career spanning over 41 years, he has been the brain (and brawn) behind major projects: building Shah Alam township from scratch, erecting icons like KLCC, KLIA, Putrajaya, and even a mega offshore lighthouse.  Toss in managing UN satellite communications in 31 countries, and you’ve got a resume that makes Gantt charts whimper.
  • Been called to rescue many mega projects that is facing issues including suburb located hospital that face problems with the 4M (Manpower Machine Materials and Money) and critical airport projects takeovers.
  • Conducts Projects Management facilitation to many professional bodies and the academia, including PMI (Malaysia, Asia Pacific, Philippines), Malaysian and International universities, O&G players, Heavy Engineering and many more.
  • Has created many Project Management modules that makes understanding PM via a simple enlightening approach including his Streetwise Project Management module that sets the ground rules for quick hit and run approaches to learning PM in a very compact timeframe.
  • Holds a Civil Engineering degree, a Masters in Information Management and a Doctorate in Engineering and has in his cloak and dagger a comprehensive research into the Malaysian Productivity Index for the development industry.
  • At present, Doc is still active in the industry, being involved in the new Penang International Airport 2.0 project that is expected to be completed in 2027 and is the advisor to a neighbouring ASEAN country on their new capital development.
