• Azmi is a Project Excellence and Capital Project Delivery specialist with more than 36 years of international experience in the governance, planning, and delivery of major capital projects across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
• His expertise includes project governance, project management systems, project assurance, constructability, engineering management, execution readiness, value engineering, technical due diligence, and organisational capability development.
• Throughout his career, Azmi has held senior engineering, project management, and executive leadership positions with Esso Production Malaysia, Imperial Oil Canada, Murphy Oil, Talisman Energy, Handal Energy, and MMC Oil & Gas Engineering. His experience spans the full project lifecycle from concept development and FEED through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, and asset optimisation.
• He has advised project owners, EPC contractors, investors, and government-linked organisations on strengthening project governance, improving project performance, and reducing execution risk. Having served both owners and contractors, he brings practical insights that bridge strategic decision making with successful project execution.
• Azmi holds a BSc (Industrial Engineering) from the University of Alabama and an MBA with Distinction from the University of Wales, Cardiff. He is a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC), Project Management Professional (PMP®), Certified Construction Project Manager (CCPM), ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE), Professional Technologist (MBOT), HRD Corp Accredited Trainer, and CIDB CCPM Trainer, Assessor, and Examiner.
