On 26 May 2026, PXP recorded Episode 15 of Borak Projex at KL Podcast Studio with YBhg. Datuk Ir. Kamarudin Zakaria, fondly known as Datuk KZ.
With more than 45 years of professional experience, Datuk KZ is a highly respected Malaysian leader with an extensive background in the oil, energy and petrochemical industries. His areas of experience include manufacturing, process safety, projects, technical management, operational excellence and the application of artificial intelligence for safer operations.
He currently serves as Executive Vice President, South East Asia and Middle East, at Near-Miss Management.
During his distinguished career with PETRONAS, Datuk KZ held several senior leadership positions, including Advisor for Self-Regulation, Head of Group Technical Solutions, Vice President of Group HSE and Operational Excellence, Vice President of Group Operational Excellence, Vice President of Downstream Operational Excellence and Vice President of PETRONAS Chemicals.
The recording was particularly meaningful for Ts. Alex Zulkarnain, Managing Director and CEO of PXP, who has known Datuk KZ since the mid-2000s and has benefited greatly from his experience and leadership over the years.
